iCity Project was presented in Greencities & Sostenibilidad and TIKAL 2014 in Málaga (Spain)

The 2nd and the 3rd of October it was held in Málaga the 5th edition of the Greencities & Sostenibilidad and the second edition of the Foro Tikal. 2500 attendees from all over 600 European companies got together in Palacio de Ferias y Congresos to tackle complex subjects such as the intelligent management of the cities, energy efficiency and innovation.

iCity Project partner, abertis telecom, took part in the event for the third consecutive year in its stand.

Raul González Prats, product manager from Abertis Telekom, was present in the Greencities & Sostenibilidad event speaking about iCity Project, among other speakers during the round table “The smart city based on a holistic view”. The talk was focused in how collaboration between cities and the use of iCity Project can facilitate the creation of new common apps that can simplify the routine days of the citizens and can improve their experience. There was a lively and open discussion among the meeting participants because there were two main positions: create an App to supply a unique service versus create an app to supply a unique service bit to several cities (the iCity Project model). Other speakers were Alfonso Arbaiza Blanco-Soler (General Manager of Innovation from Santander City Council), Pedro González Torroba (General manager of commerce and economic depelopment from Madrid Cuty Council), Pablo Rivas Suárez (New Technologies Councilman from Pozuelo de Alarcón city council), Juantxo Guibelalde Folch (Everis partner), Marcial Valmorisco Fernández (External consultant from the European Comission) and Víctor Martínez Iglesias (Head of Carriers & Sl. NEC Ibérica).

Greencities & Sostenibilidad 2014 was attended by 3244 participants, relied on the participation of 176 speakers, 118 public institutions, 80 city councils, more than 600 companies and 800 b2b meetings.

On the other hand, as was the case of the last year, it is also celebrated the TIKAL, Foro de Tecnología, Innovación de América Latina. This forum also counted with the iCity Project participation in section related to success cases in smart cities.

Alfonso Álvarez, International Projects head, with the Cáceres Major and the responsible of the Chamber of Commerce in Colombia were present in TIKAL, placed value in the public and private collaboration in the smart cities business. Álvarez explained the iCity case in Barcelona, emphasising in the communication nets, Sentilo, CityOS and iCity.

TIKAL 2014 was attended by 669 participants, included 13 talks, the participation of 68 speakers and moderators, 12 countries, 33 public administrations and 21 companies.
